Possible to combine two external 8TB G-GRAID drives into 1 volume?

I have two external 8TB G-GRAID, thunderbolt 1 drives. Is it possible to software RAID them into 1 volume? Other than 0 redundancy does this cause issues?

It could cause a lot of issues due to it being 4 drives all possibly spinning at different intervals. If any one drive is out of line it will degrade the RAID.
