Post 14 : Have you tried putting the CORRECT firmware in the flash stick?

Answer: Yes I did. I put

VERSION=‘1.06.43_V’
LOCATION=‘wdtvlive.bin’
PKG_LOCATION=‘wdtvlive.pkg’
ROOTFS2=‘’

What happens when you boot it without the USB disk connected.

You could also try with it with only the firmware files on the flash drive.

Nothing. I cannot use the remote control so what I did was to disconnect the power and then connect it again. It stays on WDTVLive HD Media Player and again with being able to use the remote control (as if it does not respond to it)

Try using the rollback firmware:

I tried roling back but got the same thing.I did not get exactly what the site says I would. It immediately found out that there is a new firmware and started upgrading the device. It rebooted at the end and while the flash disk was connected it did the update in a loop. Once I disconnected the USB drive, it got stuck on WD TV Live HD Media Player and as before I could not operate the remote control

Thanks

I think its broken!

which means ? useless ? any chance the company can fix it ?

Never got an answer to my question - should I give up on it ?
