After having my SMP crash while trying to retrieve content for a new video, and then having the Media Library just completely refuse to function…I began to think that there might actually be something to these supposed problems with the new firmware. Truly bizarre behavior with the ML. Second SMP also suddenly refused to even acknowledge ML as an option. But of course, a bit more exploration led to the true explanation: PEBKAC. I had copied the new video files to the wrong directory on the server, thereby succeeding in filling the filesystem where the ML writes its files. The SMPs reacted to the write failures by basically disabling the ML. (Not the most informative behavior I agree, but hardly the SMPs fault.)
You really need to use language the rest of us understand. PEBKAC?? google this “technical term”. . . . . OK, I get it !
Thought “everyone” knew PEBKAC. It certainly arises much here!

OK, thanks for further clarification. Since I have never experienced PEBKAC myself, I had trouble relating to the concept. Perhaps I should RTFM or read the funny papers more often.
