it’s like it’s not even connected…i tried to run the firmware updater hoping that would do the trick and it prompts me for a password… i never set up a password in the first place so there’s no password hint either! i don’t like where this is going…
Sounds like data is corrupted. You may try a random password 5 times in a row, this should give you the option to format the drive. If you are concerned about your files you may take the drive to a data recovery professional, before attempting to reformat it.
