Password And retrieval issue

I have a Passport Ultra running smartware 2.2.0
It is password protected.
Did a backup of my HD on laptop.
Replaced HD with new one and put a fresh Windows operating system on it.
Installed the WD smartware.
Did a retrieve on my backup.
It copied the files like it should but I am unable to open them . It says I do not have permission.

I don’t see any option for password input when opening the files. I did have to use my password to open the drive in order to run the retrieve.

Any idea how I can gain access to the files? Have over 15 years of photos and no other back up for most of them…

What version of windows are you using now? Try to check the permissions on those files by going to the properties of those files or folders and then going to the security section.
