my in-laws dog jerked out the cord for my passport and now it will power on as usual, the computer gives the installed successfully noise, but won’t show up on my computer or on disk managemen. i would really like to get it working again, but at the very least just get all the pictures and music off of it without paying an arm and a leg for data recovery. i have tried to get it to work on 3 computers that have vista, and one that has 7. i have tried updating the drivers for it. i have tried a new usb cable can anyone out there help?
Did the drive fall or get bumped hard and what OS? If so there could be physical damage. If the plug simply pulled out it could be corrupted. If it’s corrupted something like TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk or Partition Find and Mount http://findandmount.com/ might work.
