Passport Ultra with Mac - Can't Read and Write after changing laptop

The Passport Ultra was registered using my old Macbook Air. When I switched to a new Macbook and downloaded my Macbook Air backup, I tried to edit files on the Passport Ultra but it told me I could only read. How can I change the authorisation?
