Partition disk exFAT - My Passport 2TB

I’m new to using the passport and need to be able to access files on both Mac and PC. I tried to use the instructions to erase my disk but did not know that I was supposed to partition it then too. So now I have a Time Machine back up on the disk (~200GB) and have since updated my Mac so I need these files/cannot erase the disk again. My PC cannot read the passport seeing as it’s the wrong file format :frowning:

Can I partition half the disk to the exFAT format? Or will I need to erase the whole thing and re-format it? When I erased, I had changed it to exFAT… but when I backed up using Time Machine, it saved as AFPS only for the 200GB. I’m wondering if partitioning, formatting to exFAT for that half of the disk, then backing up my Mac again (it still has some of my files) will let me access those files on the my PC?

Thanks in advance.
