Operating temperature: 5°C to 35°C
Non-op. temperature: -20°C to 65°C
This is from their tech spec. It is obvious there is a typo. The operating temperature is 65 C.
Recent studies from HDD forums and Google state that temps up to 59C is not a problem as once thought. My Element reaches 56/59C with or without read/write until it places itself into sleep mode.
