I have a 500 Gig my passport drive. It was working fine but now the cable seems to have gone south on me. If I jiggle the cable it will make connection and the drive spins and the light comes on. However, the drive is never recognized.
I want to take the hard drive out and put it into a new sata external case. How do you open the open case?? I don’t want to destroy it as I may be able to fix the connection (hoping anyway) once I get it open.

Since there’s been no replies, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
