Online backupservice or My Cloud Home?

Hi. I need some kind of wireless backup for my house… I’ve heard, that I can’t connect to my cloud home, when I’m not connected to my home-wifi? is that true ??

Furthermore I would like to know, which benefits will I get by choosing a My cloud Home instead of a Online backupservice(e.g. Dropbox or Onedrive)?

Actually I’m also considering a My cloud Mirror - But, as I can read it is just an older version of my cloud home ?? right

No that is not true.
My Cloud Home supports remote access using My Cloud Mobile app on iOS and Android phones, Windows and macOS via Web App and WD Discovery desktop app. It’s the content in the //MyCloud-XXXXXX/Public share that cannot be accessed remotely using the client apps

My Cloud Home, Dropbox nor OneDrive should be considered as a Backup Up Service, although they can be used as backup destinations
