Not finding the hardrive all of a sudden

I plugged my My book essential in for the first time about a week ago, it installed just fine, no worries at all, I could transfer all my files over to it, and I could access them.

Then all of a sudden my computer can’t find it, I didn’t unplugg it so that shouldn’t be why. Either way, I have tried unplugging it since and plugging it back in, computer still can’t find it. Then I downloaded the drivers again from this website(well, different part of the website;) Still won’t work, does anyone have a clue what might be wrong?

Hi there, there are several things that could have gone wrong. From power to a mechanical problem. Try looking for the drive on disk management (right-click computer/my computer> manage> disk management) to see if the drive is there, or a firmware update.
