Non IT guru needs help formatting

Hi all, I would appreciate some help please.

I just bought a WD elements 1TB hard drive.   My DVD player (Toshiba multi regional SD2010KY) obviously missed the “plug and play” revolution.  The dvd player is only 2 years old, but when I put the harddrive in the DVD USB port, it says unsupported USB.  But if I put a normal usb with my music on it, it works fine with that.

Now I am a single mum, not a IT guru by all means so step by step and plain english  would be appreciated.

I need to format the 1TB to FAT32 from a Windows PC computer, the easiest way possible.   The Good Guys fellow says if I format it to FAT32, it should play my store-bought DVD’s (when I burn them) and a few .avi and .mp4 files.

Thank you in advance for the people who are willing to help me.

Cheers, brunettesrule :smileyvery-happy:

You might need a third party tol to format it to FAT32 here is one http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm Remember with FAT32 the largest file it will accept is 4 gig.

Hi Joe

I saw this post before, and looked at the website, but I’m too scared to download it because I don’t know how to do it.
