Hi,
I have a portable hard drive (I think it’s a WD Elements SE 500GB) which started acting strange and then, all of a sudden, stopped working at all.
It now turns on the light, makes a running noise (no clicking) but the computer doesn’t recognize it.
I tested it in several computers and OS’s (Linux and Windows). In Windows, for example, it doesn’t show in Disk Management and it doesn’t show in Device Manager.
I opened up the disk plastic case in order to connect the disk to my computer through SATA but it doesn’t seem to have such interface. I have never seen a disk that looks like this. It has a strange connector with a row of 6 pins and I don’t know what it is for.
I’ve found a picture online that looks exactly the same:
Does anyone know if this port can help me recover my lost data?
Thanks in advance.
