I have just set up 2 x My Passport Ultra 2Tb drives to backup at 1 a.m. on alternate days. The only problem with this is that at that time the PC is sleeping and when it’s sleeping the drives won’t power on and so no backup can take place. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Problem solved! I set up a scheduled task to wake the PC up five minutes before the backup was due to take place. I followed the instructions here: http://www.howtogeek.com/119028/how-to-make-your-pc-wake-from-sleep-automatically/ and it seems to work OK.
