The My Passport is not the same as a My Cloud device. The My Cloud is a network attached storage device NOT an external hard drive like the My Passport. The methods and discussions here will generally have no bearing on a My Passport device that is connected to a Macintosh since the My Passport device doesn’t have the “My Cloud Dashboard” nor does it run the My Cloud OS5 firmware.
