New pc can't recognise my WD passport

I have a My Passport Essential WDME1600 which I originally used for backup but replaced my pc with a larger capacity hard drive I only use it for copying my photographs as a secondary storage point.

I again upgraded my pc which is operating on Windows 7 but when i try to use the passport my pc is saying that the driver is not compatible and to search this website for updates.

Has anyone else had this problem and found an answer.

Hello,

Go to device manager and check the USB controllers. If you see one with an exclamation mark just delete it, restart the computer and then connect the drive again so it would load a new driver
