New My Book Home for iMac

OK, so I sent in my failed My Book to WD for a warranty replacement.

So they sent me a replacement - i plugged it in , connected via firewire . . . and nothing.

The white light lights up on the front - but it never mounts.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

OK - update - it works via USB . . .I wonder why not firewire?

a.  Try a different Firewire port or on a different computer.

b.  Try a different Firewire cable.

c.   Update the WD external drive Firmware.  please follow this link for firmware downloading

If after you have tried all of the suggestions, You would need to contact WD tech support for further help.
