New ISP Starlink - IP Issues

Hi

So recently I’ve swapped to Starlink (I’m in a bit of a rural area in Australia), and need to swap my NAS to the new ISP. Unfortunately Starlink doesn’t let people configure IP range, and the router automatically assigns an IP that I can’t change, which means I can’t use it. I still have access to my old internet for a brief time, but I’m not sure how to go about changing the NAS’s IP to the new Starlink IP, since the gateway is also different.

Any ideas?

Thanks

A few thoughts;

  • use your old router; and access the WD dashboard.

  • Under the NAS “utilities” and “Network” tabs, ensure the NAS is set for DHCP and not “fixed” IP address.
    With this, the router will assign the NAS an IP address.
