Network Shares

I have had a legacy WDTV live plus for several years, connects to my network shares everytime no problems.

I have 2 external hd’s labeled E & F. They both have always shown up in the network shares.

Recently bought a newer model WDTV live and hooked it up to another TV in the house. It sees my F drive no problem but I cant get it to see the E drive. Only way I can is to use the PS3 media server software…Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Using Windows 7

Hi,

Are both drives connected on the same computer?

If not, make sure that they are within the same workgroup.

Yes they are both external drives connected to the PC.

Turn OFF the WDTV completely (no power).  Then, un-share the E drive that does not show, and reboot the PC.  Then, re-share the E drive once the PC is fully booted.  Once it shows as shared, then, turn WDTV back on.  Hopefully, all will be OK now.
