Netflix and Dolby Digital

It appears that the WD List TV Plus supports Dolby Digital(DD) within netflix, however I’m having issues making it work.  DD is working fine for local streaming video, but on Netflix even after I specify DD in the Audio & Subtitles option of a file, it still comes through my receiver as stereo.  Is there something I’m missing?

Are you sure the show you’re watching is being streamed in Dolby Digital 5.1 and not Dolby Digital 2.0?

It should be DOLBY DIGITAL+. If it says 5.1 on the summary screen, it should be DD+. What titles are you trying?

It seems I am having the same problem.  I think my issue is that my amplifier only supports Dolby Digital and not Dolby Digital Plus.  Does anyone know of a way to make the WD Live Plus downconvert the audio stream to Dolby Digital from Dolby Digital Plus?

There is no way to down convert from DD+ to DD on any if the Live players.

Your receiver needs to support DD+ for 5.1 to work in Netflix.

It would be nice if there were a way to downmix undecodable streams to multichannel PCM… but there are probably licensing issues.
