Need help with Jbod setup

Wired up a 640 blue to add disk space to my primary velociraptor 300. Can’t get my computer to recognize that there is even a new drive present. Running vista 32. Is disk recognition done thru something in vista or bios or is it supposed to automatically be recognized (doesn’t seem to be…)?

I hope you’ve solved this by now, but just in case …

Probably need to partition and format the disk in “Disk Management” - at least that’s what it’s called in XP.

To run it (in XP), you first get Computer Management by right-click “My Computer” and choose Manage - or you might find it under Administrative Tools. Disk Management is in the left hand panel.

Or, click Start > Run and type diskmgmt.msc in the Open: line and click OK.

Then, IIRC you right click the long rectangle of the drive, and create partition.
