I am new to the forum. No backup software seems to meet my needs:
- I do NOT need to backup my HP Win10 laptop files!
- I DO need to manually store several TBs of data to my Easy Store Portable
backup, 4 TB, plug and play device (P/N: WDBKUZ0040BBK-EB) connected to
my local network. - I wish to connect the WD HD to my cable modem router using a
Ethernet/USB/HDMI cable. - For safety-sake, I need all of the data to be copied (“mirrored”) to a second,
similar, ext HD also connected to the cable modem router. I expect software will
needed to sync the data. - I am especially concerned about software that changes the file structure, file
naming of my data or other changes to ANY of the file properties. - Review and retrieval of the data should be fast and easy.
- Please keep your replies non-technical, if possible.
- As a side note, my primary 4 TB WD HD fell over, was damaged and NONE of
the 2 TB of data could be recovered.
WD offered to replace the drive and
shred my faulty drive. Also, I do not trust cloud storage, at this time. - You cannot believe now difficult it has been to find solutions to this common
