NAS my Cloud drive doesn't show on Network

I have an Western Digital NAS My Cloud drive. It has stopped working. The drive won’t mount and no longer shows in listed network devices on my Mac OS.

I have tried multiple Macs with various Mac OS version and the NAS drive doesn’t appear on any system

I connected the drive via USB port to one Mac and it doesn’t mount nor show in the Drive Utility.

Tried rebooting both the router and NAS drive with no success.

My Cloud web account shows the drive “offline”.

Best I can discern is this means the hard drive has failed??

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Do you own a WD My Cloud Home or is it another WD device?

I don’t follow your question?

Yes I have an WD My Cloud Home device.

I have followed a few of the recommended fixes here on WD site but no success.

There are a lot of people who post in the My Cloud Home sub-forum that own other WD Devices. To provide an answer it helps to know what device a person owns.

You started off your topic by saying, “I have an Western Digital NAS My Cloud drive.”

The My Cloud Home has a white top half and silver bottom half, the other WD ‘My Cloud’ do not.

Nobody knows what you have or what you have tried.

How to Access My Cloud Home Public Share on macOS

  • Common Internet File System (CIFS) tag must be used to connect to the Public Share on macOS.
  • It must be made as the macOS Guest user.

Contact support if you don’t know what you have or what you have tried:

I have a My Cloud not the earlier drive.

I listed what it tried in my post. I reviewed the troubleshooting posted and tried the steps.

Which led to my post.

Not sure what to answer as to what I tried. The drive shows off line and not seen by any computer I have.

The cifs URL uou posted gave a not found error in the finder also.

My guess is the drive is dead and unrecoverable?

thanks
