(It shows though that the drive is working perfectly.)
I’ve tried checking this disk for complete erase, de- and reactivated the driver, looked for updates (only automatically, I don’t know which driver goes with this, after all…) but to no avail.
Not sure what is what here as I don’t read German, but I suspect that you have not initialized the drive. Go to Windows File and look for a Disk ‘CD’, and open that. It should get you started. Not sure of the CD name. It should also show up on the Disk Management screen.
I couldn’t even initialize the drive. There was an option of deleting the
volume but that doesn’t help.
What vexes me is that the name and the pathway never shows up. If I delete the volume and reformat it, The wizard works fine and then at the end it shows an error. Then I’m at square one.
Btw do all WD external drives have weird "plugs "?
