MyPassport fails DriveUtilities Complete Test at 10% but passes DLG 100%. What should I think?

The title says it. I have a new MyPassport 2TB. It passes the WD Drive Utilities Status Check and Quick Drive Test without difficulty, but the Complete Drive Test consistently freezes at 10%. Data Lifeguard Diagnostics can find nothing wrong with the drive, and other software recognizes and uses the drive without comment.
Is there a bug in WD Drive Utilities, or do I have a defective MyPassport?

It doesn’t give you any error, it just freezes? What OS are you running? Which Passport are you using?

Yes. The program is still running, because I can see in Task
Manager that its memory usage is moving slightly up & down. But on
the screen, there’s no action. See

and

I had it running for a few hours before I first wrote in, with the
same stasis at 10%.

What OS are you running?

Windows 7/64 Pro

Which Passport are you using?

I was mistaken. I was misled by the progress bar, which moved
rapidly up to 10%, then stalled. But now, I tried it again. It
seemed to stop at 10%, but 40 minutes after reaching 10%, it suddenly
jumped to 20%, and thereafter continued at a rate of about 10% every
40 to 60 minutes, in visible quanta of 10%. If the progress bar had
consisted of only 10 cells, I’d have understood. With a 35- or
40-cell progress bar, one expects progress to be shown progress in
finer grain. Whoever wrote DLG knew how to do this.

In any event, the MyPassport drive checks out completely. Thanks
for your willingness to help.

Well, I’m glad it turned out fine. I haven’t used the DLG utility in a long time, so at least now, we know how it tends to work.
