MyCloud EX4 Raid Setup, adding USB extra Storage

Hi All,

I’m starting to creep up to the maximum storage on my MyCloud EX4. I have this set as RAID 1 as I don’t want to lose any data in the event of a hard drive failure.

Anyway I’m needing to expand and I was thinking the easy option would be to add a MyBook to the USB. However I’m thinking you may not be able to set up all drives in a RAID 1 setup? Is this possible and if so how do you go about doing this?

Any help would be well received!!

Hi James53646 ,

Sorry, but if you connect the drive externally with your WD My Cloud EX4. It will not be configured in RAID 1 as this will be just like an external storage for the drive.
