My Mybook World Edition WD5000G032 seems to have died. Can I move the drive to a similar MyBook and retrieve the data ? I can hear the drive spin up but the blue lights don’t come on and nobody is home…
Also, are the 500GB and 1TB version the same except for the drive inside ?
Not going to work. Your best bet is to put the drive inside a Linux computer that reads the EXT3 file system.
