I’ve searched extensively and read all the topics on similar problems, tried all the solutions including safe ejection from PC, updated permissions to full for everyone, turned off media library compilation, and yet still the drive is not read. It is recognized because I get the message “cannot compile media library. Check your storage”. It’s a 3 TB Mybook formatted to NTFS. I’ve run check disk with fix errors enabled, it didn’t find any. It’s only 3% fragmented.
Strangely enough it plays fine on one of the same model device at home but not the other. The player IS working because it plays from a flash drive just fine. Don’t know what else to try.
I know there’s nothing wrong with the cable because the PC recognizes the drive in a few seconds. All files are accessible.
