My World Book World Edition - another Mac El Capitan issue

Hi,

Ok the tale so far, and not seen anything on another thread so far that has worked for me…

  1. Since El Capitan upgrade a couple of years ago, WD Anywhere Backup software doesn’t back up. It just scans files but doesn’t update what I ask it to verify and certainly doesn’t back up. 18 months of house move and renovation later, I have time to look into this,
  2. The WD software utility to check drives can’t see the drive, even though it is available in Finder
  3. Downloaded the WD software utility to check if drivers etc up to date, and it can;t see the drive.
  4. I can access the control panel through a web browser and get to the firmware update command, but that just says “Connect Failed” every time.

So, I want this drive to do it’s back up thing again. I don’t want to start from scratch as also have lot of music on there.

Suggestions?

Steve

Hi there,

I haven’t tried this, although the WD anywhere backup works up to Mac OS 10.9, however lets see if another user can share some information or tips on this matter.
