I need help because a while ago, my essential edition 2.0 didn’t appear to have any files on it. When I connect to my imac a message comes up saying the disk is not formatted for it, but thing is that ive been using it on this computer for 1-2 years or so. I don’t know what to do because I had my computer backups and a lot of files and pics stored on it. It turns on fine but nothing else. … I also tried software like disk utility, which wont let me repair, and Data rescue 3, which cant find files.Please help and thanks in advance

You can try this http://www.partition-tool.com/ , it will repair and might allow to recover some of the data.

Hi there, you can try TestDisk, which is free and works with Macs, but will only help you recover the data if the drive was FAT32…
