2TB Ultra no longer shows the 1.9TB of files on it.
Could not run the WD Utility drive status or scan. Nothing happens. Disk Utility on Mac suggests that there is a partition problem.
Any suggestions on how to correct a partition problem without destroying files?
If not, any way to get files off of the hard drive before reformatting?

I recommend you try the “First Aid” option on disk utility, if this does not work then you should try a data recovery software before formatting.
Can you share the screenshot of the error thrown by Disk utility on your WD?
Also, what does the SMART says?
