My Passport - physically swap data from bad unit to good

I have a WD My Passport that quit working, all signs point to something failing internally. After a couple of rounds of having to unplug/replug the USB for the drive to show up on my computer, it finally stop showing up and i can neither feel nor hear the disk spinning. I have another drive of the same model, is it possible to open them up and swap parts so I can salvage and access my data?
