My Passport Not Being Detected

 Hello! 

I have owned a WD My Passport for about 4 years now. I recently purchased a new computer (ThinkPad) and when I connect it to the computer via the 3.0 usb port or the regular usb port, it is not detected but I can see that the light on the passport turns on. The passport worked fine with my previous computer (also a ThinkPad but older model) but not with this new computer. Any suggestions/ideas? I saw that other have had similar problems, but am not sure why it worked with my old computer (which I no longer have) but not the new one.

What’s the OS installed on that computer?

Make sure that the drivers are being properly installed.
