This is an older model. I also noticed that dashboard does not seem to detect a serial number. I used it on my last laptop without a problem. I don’t know why it won’t use the serial number that is printed on the bottom. Please advise. I assume that it is possibly a usb 2.0 device, but I am uncertain. it is plug and play, and not bluetooth/wireless.
Hi @joshuam,
The WD My Passport does not require any drivers to be installed as it is a plug-and-play device that does not require any software installation.

what exactly are legacy drivers? it did not install a driver to begin with, and said it basically was an unknown WD device, and there was not a compatible driver. I have windows 10, but windows update does not have one.
