My Passport 'corrupted an unreadable'

Hi,

I cannot seem to access my My Passport drive. I keep getting an error message saying ‘The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable’. I used to use Vista and now I use Windows 7 - I’m not sure if this is why this happened.

I have nearly 400GB of data which I have on this drive and I need to recover this but not sure how to, I’m afraid of further damaging the drive. Looking for solutions to get ths drive working again!!

If you are considering professional recovery don’t try anything. You can try TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk or Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva Sometimes booting from a Linux Live CD will also allow access.
