Since I plugged my passport into a TV it wont work on a PC, it just asks me to format drive, does anyone have any ideas what’s happened, any solutions and can I get my data back?

The easiest thing you can do is:
Plug the WD external drive to one of your PC computer.
Go to my computer.
Right click on the WD external drive.
Properties
Under General tap, look for file system, does it say FAT32, NTFS?
If it does say either, the drive is still good.
Go to Tools, do the scan disk to double check the drive condition.
