My Passport 5-TB not recognized on Dell Vostro

File explorer does not reckognize My Passport external drive. Drive is reckognized by other computer and works fine. Device manager shows yellow triangle next to drive when clicking on properties it states:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

When trying to update driver, windows states it could not find driver for device.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the suggeastions. I tried everything on the list except for updating the WD driver:
I can’t find a reference on the WD site for a driver for My Passport with 5TB (only 4TB)

Also, the drive is recognized and works fine in my other, older laptop.

Thank you

You can try the below solutions & check if that works:

  1. Plug the drive into another USB port
  2. Change USB cable
  3. Change drive letter
  4. Reinstall USB controller
  5. Update WD device driver
  6. Run anti-virus software

Hope it will help!
