My passport 0748 s recognized in Devices and Printer. The troubleshooter “fixes” the problems. The drive is called Local Disk F: in Explorer, but will not show the file structure. I have installed the SES drivers for the device, Now it has 4 sets of drivers: F;, USB Mass Storage Device, WD My Passport 0748 USB Device and WD SES Device. so I uninstalled all but the SES device. I rebooted and I at least got an error: Data error (cyclic redundacy check).
When looking at My Passport 0748 Properties, the drivers are now USB Mass Storage Device, WD My Passport 0748 USB Device, WD SES Device, and WPD File System Volume Driver.
I’m stumped…
Also, I changed the USB Safely Remove Hardware feature to “dismount” before removing and now it says I shouldn’t disconnect the drive. The light is blinking on the drive, and is vibrating slightly when touched.
