My Net N900 - Firmware upgrade failure with error: "REQUEST ENTITY TOO LARGE..."

Hello there,

The previous therad on this subject was closed but the only solution provided there (to reset to factory defaults) did not work on my brand new My Net N900 router.

I’m attempting to upgrade from firmware version 1.02.02 dated Mon 21 May 2012, to the latest firmware version 1.07.16 dated 21-May-13, but I get the following error:

“REQUEST ENTITY TOO LARGE
The maximum acceptable content length is 16384000, but this request has 26108145”

It seems that firmware version 1.02.02 is unable to deal with an update file larger than 16384000 bytes. The router is brand new but sat unopened on a shelf for about 18 months.

Hello,

I recommend you contact support directly for assistance with this issue.

Thank you Hamlet.

In the event, I decided to try the automated update from within the router (as opposed to the manual way of downloading the file to pc, etc) and it was successful.

I think that you can close the thread.

Many thanks once again.
