My Easystore external drive does not connect with the WD Discovery software – “No USB device connected". HELP!

I just purchased a14TB WB Easystore external drive and installed it on my Windows 10 desktop. I have a problem. It’s visible and accessible in disk management and on “This PC” but does not connect with the WD Discovery software – “No USB device connected”. I get the same message on my laptop. Please advise on how to correct this.

I followed the steps in the above link and was able to resolve the USB device connection issue. The information is from 2016 and is a little vague here and there but worked. You would think WD would of posted this all over or come up with a fix for this by now…
