My Cloud Home constant disk activity after file transfer

So I have a 4TB MCH that I’ve had since 2018 which is used as my Time Machine as well as a general NAS. This morning, I transferred roughly 300GB of data off of my iMac (macOS 10.15.5 Beta), and all went well. However now, roughly 5 hours later, the MCH has constant disk activity and is not accessible from any device (iPhone, iPad, Galaxy S10). However, the drive LED light is “slow breathing” after unplugging the power cable for 40 seconds, and it still has constant disk activity.

Additionally, the drive flagged an error message stating that the drive was overheating, which was unusual. Is this due to indexing after the file transfer?

At this point, I just want to pull the files off of the MCH because if this device is going to be unusable, I will go with another option.
