My Book World Needs new firm ware and soft ware

I have a 1TB My Book World, Ethernet edition.  I discovered that it isn’t backing up.  It has Memeo software and has stopped communicating with my pc.  I like the ethernet feature, but WD no longer supports Memeo.

Is there another software that can operate the drive? 

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Is there another recommended network back up drive?

I’m not sure about the software but you will need a professional tools(like PC3000) to flash the firware on your hard drive.
