My book world edition II (white light) Cannot connect

Mac OS X Yosemite

Have connected directly through Ethernet cable

I can view the drive on the network when browsing but I get a connection failed when I try to connect

I reset the drive (button on back)

Connecting as- User: Admin   Password: Admin

All my family photos & videos are on this drive. I’m a graphic designer & all my life’s work is on here too, literally.

Any Advice?

when I power the drive, the light cycles up and down for a minute and the light turns off. Can hear the drive still spinning after the light turns off

oops, sorry.  This is a MAC question.  I thought it was a Win10 question, so I deleted my off target response.
