My Book - used it as back device first now want to switch it to a storage device

Is is possible to swtich My Book to a storage device instead of a backup device. For instance, what if I need to put file/pictures on my parents pc using My Book? When I look at the files on My Book, the main folders is this long name. I have to go into each one just to see what was save in that folder.
