All, is it possible to format the my book live in mac os journaled, so that it can be easier used with iMovie iPhoto etc.? If yes, can this be done only for part of the 2tb?

No, you can’t.
The format of a NAS is not visible to the client computer; it’s just a NAS.
Format is only important to DIRECTLY attached storage, not NETWORKED storage.
