My Book home not recognized from Windows 7 Pro x64

I have a My Book external hard drive mod. WD10000H1CS. Unfortunately Windows 7 Pro x64 does not recognize it. On WD website I could not find drivers for download, but only software utility. Could you help me? Thanks

How is the drive formatted and does it show in Disk Management? It may just need a letter assinged or to be put Online.

The disk is formatted NTFS.

When I connect the usb cable to the computer, Windows 7 x64 looks for a driver. At the end of search says “unknown hardware” and the external disk doesn’t appear in Disk Management.

The external disk work properly if I connect it to a Windows XP computer.
