My book essential retrival of an older backup

I had to reinstall windows 7 to repair an audio problem.  I backed up my computer to my wd my book essential 

when i try to retrieve my files all i see is my last computer’s backup, lapxp  when look at the drive from windows/computer/my book H: i can see that there is 191 gigs of material i just don’t know how to get to that information

How did you backup your computer? Did you use WD Smartware or did you manually backup your data?
