My Book Essential Blinking Light - NOT Mounting

Have a My Book Essential that just blinks and will not mount. I have tried reformatting the drive - no help. Sometimes it is recognized other times the Mac cannot see it at all. UGH another failed Western Digital External Drive.

Hello,

Make sure the drive is plugged in directly into a wall outlet. Also, if possible try using another USB cable.
