My Book Essential 3.0 - stuck on "Ready to perform backup

MB Essential 3.0 (but using USB 2.0) on Windows 7. Using custom File Backup option.  It is stuck on “Ready to perform backup” but doesn’t actually back anything else up.  Was all working ok, now I can’t get the backup to kick in.  Tried uninstallin/reinstallig, it fixed the problem, but then stpped again. Firmware and software is up to date.  Tried switching to category backupo and back again.  Also tried changing some of the file backup settings and hitting “Apply Changes” to see if that kicked in the backup.  Nothing has any effect - it just sits there doing nothing  with the message at the top “Ready to perform file backup” :frowning:
